Bahrain: Shaikh Isa steals show in 160km international race

Endurance – Shaikh Isa bin Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa, of Team Victorious, won the 160km international race of the His Majesty the King’s Cup Endurance Ride Festival that took place at the Bahrain International Endurance Village in Sakhir yesterday.

The festival, organised by Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (Breef), included a 120km race for private stables that was held in the presence of His Majesty’s representative for humanitarian works and youth affairs and Breef honorary president Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and Supreme Council for Youth and Sport first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

The second place in the 160km international race, which witnessed stiff competition, was taken by Mohammed Abdulsamad Al Bastaki, of Al Ruood Team, with Michaela Supekova making it a podium double for Team Victorious with a third place finish.

Shaikh Isa bin Faisal deservedly won the race after clocking 6 hours, 35 minutes and 47 seconds, almost three seconds ahead of the runner-up, and two minutes ahead of Supekova...
