The French talent wants to build on a glorious victory...
A triumphant Carla Mosti felt like she was “flying” on Gino D’Armani as they soared across the finish line to take gold at the 120km FEI Endurance European Championship for Young Riders & Juniors in Arborea (ITA) in September.
The victory was even sweeter for the 19-year-old French rider because of the special relationship she has built with her family’s eight-year-old gelding. Added to that was the feeling that all her hard work had paid off, and that her family and friends’ support and encouragement had been vindicated.
“I was filled with emotions when I won, joy – crying, pride, happy; I jumped into the arms of my loved ones,” Carla said.
“Gino was born at home, he is the first foal of Djalila du Porche, who belongs to us. He is a delicate horse; in his early days he was quite complicated. Gino is very sensitive and attentive to the slightest noise. He has very good cardiac recovery, is very generous, and a fighter...”

GulfToday.ae - Full Article
November 10 2024
Gulf Today, Staff Reporter
The 2024-25 Dubai Endurance season got underway at Dubai International Endurance City with a healthy dose of excitement as MRM Stables seized the spot after claiming the campaign-opening Seeh Al Salam Endurance Challenge by a mere second courtesy of star rider Saif Ahmed Al Mazrouei, who delivered aboard Magic Glenn Torque.
Organised by Dubai Equestrian Club, the 119-km four loop ride witnessed stiff competition from all the major stables involved in endurance riding in the UAE, with a total of 119 rider-horse pairings venturing into the sands of the Al Marmoom Conservation Reserve.
And it was Al Mazrouei and his 13-year-old companion who won with a consistent approach that witnessed them stay close to the top of an evolving leaderboard. The pair posted a time of four hours, 12 minutes and 16 seconds (4:12:16), which was a mere second quicker than the 4:12:17 recorded by F3-1 Stables pair of Hamad Humaid Al Tamimi and 765 Sargon, even as third placed F3 Stables pair of Rashed Mohammed Al Mehairi and A’Bandom’s Rockabilly cantered in third a further 26 seconds behind in 4:12:43...

Lancaster horse rider escaped wild dogs and more during the Mongol Derby, the world's toughest horse race
LancasterOnline.com - Full Story
MIKE ANDRELCZYK | For LNP and LancasterOnline Nov 7, 2024
The morning of her 38th birthday, Sarah Delia woke up with a headache.
The day before, Delia was bucked off a semiwild Naadam racehorse. It bolted away, leaving her alone to wander the eerily quiet, but blazing hot, Mongolian steppe.
That happened on day 4 of a grueling, intense 10-day competition called the Mongol Derby — billed as the longest and toughest horse race in the world.
Delia, who moved to Lancaster in 2017, grew up riding horses competitively in Tennessee but stopped riding for 17 years. She traded horseshoes for long-distance running shoes, attended law school and embarked on a career as an attorney specializing in corporate and commercial litigation for the law firm McCarter & English.
Lately, Delia had spent more time in an office chair than in a saddle. But then she read Laura Prior-Palmer’s 2019 memoir “Rough Magic: Riding the World’s Loneliest Horse Race.” The book tracks Prior-Palmer’s experience in the Mongol Derby, an annual 620-mile adventure horse race that traces the route of Genghis Khan’s horse messengers across the Mongolian steppe.
Suddenly, Delia felt the urge to get back in the saddle.
“It got under my skin,” Delia said. “Go big or go home, right?”...
